Building business value before an exit: the infoboss journey

Published 21 October 2026

A higher-value exit starts with building a stronger business well before a sale. The work includes making its market position, customer value and routes to growth clear enough for others to understand.

That was the ambition behind our three-year engagement with infoboss. Its founders had developed sophisticated data-management software. Our role was to connect that technical strength with commercial positioning, a partner-led route to market and consistent marketing delivery.

What are you building for a buyer?

A potential buyer needs to understand more than what a product can do. Which customers need it? What problem does it solve? How can the business reach more of those customers? What makes the opportunity repeatable?

For a founder-led technical business, some of those answers can sit largely in the owners’ heads. Positioning work brings them into a shared commercial argument that the wider team can use.

With infoboss, we started with the business ambitions, existing customers, strengths and opportunities. We helped translate a flexible platform into propositions for defined markets, giving buyers a clearer account of its relevance to their own challenges.

Can growth extend beyond the founders?

Developing a partner route was an important part of the work. IT consultancies, managed service providers and specialists could use infoboss to strengthen their own services, reaching customers through relationships they had already established.

We helped define that partner opportunity and communicate it through recruitment messaging and campaigns. The aim was to support a more repeatable route to market beyond individual customer relationships.

Does everyday marketing support the same ambition?

Strategy has to survive contact with everyday delivery. Articles, LinkedIn activity, email campaigns and customer stories should reinforce the same proposition, rather than pull the business in different directions.

We worked alongside the infoboss team to maintain that connection. Commercial positioning informed partner communications, thought leadership, sector-focused content and ongoing marketing support.

For an owner preparing for exit, that consistency matters because it makes the business easier to understand. A clear growth story needs credible evidence and practical routes to market behind it.

A new chapter for infoboss

On 25 June 2026, Omni Partners announced that Infoshare+ had acquired infoboss alongside 3C Consultants. We are proud to have supported infoboss as it built towards that next chapter.

The acquisition is the outcome of the business’s wider journey. Our contribution was to help clarify its commercial proposition, develop the partner route and carry the strategy through into marketing activity.

When should exit preparation begin?

Begin while there is time to strengthen the business and demonstrate progress. Agree what makes it valuable, where future growth can come from and which capabilities need to operate beyond the founders.

Then make those decisions visible in the proposition, customer evidence, partner strategy and everyday communications. The work should support a stronger business today as well as a clearer opportunity for a future buyer.
